The idea started when I was thinking about what a rough year I've had and I started to feel badly for myself. It became very apparent (after I demolished a box of tissues) that I needed to stop having a pity party for myself. There are so many blessings in my life that other people do not have. I should be grateful, not sad.
After I got my head out of my butt, I knew that I needed to do something to give back.
- Socks
- Chapstick
- Comb
- Kleenex
- Toothbrush
- Toothpaste
- Nail clippers
- Nail file
- Moisturizer with SPF
- Wet wipes
- Snacks
- Candy
- Feminine products
- Aspirin
- Ziplock Bag
- A note
I made half the bags for women and half the bags for men. The only difference is the appropriate size socks and feminine hygiene products. I finished it with a letter of hope and you can add some quotes/scripture as well-- whatever you think is right.
Let us make this season of giving focused on those who need it most. It doesn't have to be the homeless, but let it be to the place that your heart takes you.
Sherrie, I think I love you. This is a terrific idea, no matter what time of year. God bless you. Joanne
ReplyDeleteJoanne, thank you! I use it all year long and I love being able to hand them out to people. I hope you like it as much as I do :)
