Do your hands need some help? I hear you. This season always gets to me too! I am totally in love with my
Homemade Lavender Rose Hand Lotion. Have you tried it yet?! I hope so because it's one of my favorite DIYs in the entire world! And apparently it is so amazing that someone decided to steal it and put it in a book
(which is 100% illegal. Google it). Oh, Tina... for shame!
Life is funny like that. When life gives you lemons, you just got to make more DIYs. Seriously, it's therapeutic! You should totally try it the next time you are frustrated with something. Just make some
salt scrubs and knead that salt so good. It will be so mixed up by the time you're done with it and your friends will be like "Daaaaaaaamn, girl. This is the best salt scrub ever."
ANYWAYS, when I'm nervous or stressed, I tend to destroy my nails! Does anyone else do that?! When I started using this serum, I noticed that around two weeks later my nails weren't breaking as I abuse them with my stress squeezes and bites. Cool huh?!
Not only does it keep your nails strong and growing, but this cuticle and nail serum is also great to keep the cuticles soft, too! Use it about 2-3 times a week for best results.
Cuticle and Nail Serum
I mix everything in a 5 ml bottle. You can recycle an old essential oil bottle or get a
2 oz Amber Glass Dropper Bottles.
Two to three times a week, I apply a drop to the base of my nails. I rub it in and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes before rubbing off any excess. But remember-- do not waste! Feel free to rub the excess on the rest of your hands or another part of your body that needs TLC because it is just fantastic for skin care support!
If you want to decorate your bottle, then try some Washi Tape. I like this pack of 6 because I can use a different decorative tape for each type of DIY so it reminds me what it's for! Check it out here:
Washi Tape.
NAIL DISCLAIMER: Do not use this more than 3 times a week or your nails may turn a little darker due to the coloration of the Myrrh. If you omit the Myrrh, then knock yourself out. Roll around it in. Soak your hands in it. Bath in it. Make it rain with it.
Have fun!!
Looks wonderful ! Do you think the omission of Myrrh would greatly decrease the therapeutic benefit ?
ReplyDeleteThanks for this DIY recipe - love all your recipes
Myrrh is amazing for nail and skin health, but Frankincense and Lavender are great too. I think you could substitute with a citrus like bergamot or add more frankincense to the mixture if you decided to omit the myrrh and it would still be lovely.
DeleteSherri I wanted to ask you about the lavender rose hand cream but couldn't find the comment section on that page....can you substitute anything for the rose water? I personally have the rose water myself but a girl was asking me as she doesn't have any...any thoughts?! Thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't recommend changing the recipe because it will change the consistency, but if you would like a thicker cream you can omit the rose water entirely or use additional rose essential oil to replace the smell of roses.
