A few weeks ago my acupuncturist told me that she was worried about how tight my shoulders and neck were. This was news to me! I never knew the muscles in my shoulder and neck were anything other than perfect. I asked her why that could happen and I got a laundry list of answers.
- Stress
- Bad posture
- Sensitive to other's energy
- Recent physical labor
- Working out
- Sleeping on the wrong pillow
- Sitting at a desk for too long

DIY Shoulder and Neck Roll-on
- 15 drops Lavender Essential Oil
- 15 drops Eucalyptus Blue Essential Oil
- 10 drops Valor or Valor II Essential Oil
- 10 drops Copaiba Essential Oil
- Carrier oil (such as almond, jojoba or fractionated coconut oil)
***If you are just getting started with your oil collection, you may want a basic version of this with the Lavender, Copaiba but with Panaway in place of Eucalyptus Blue and Peppermint in place of Valor. This is a great starter recipe if you have the Premium Starter Kit.
You can also use this roll-on with the Lacrosse Ball Trick. Do you know it? You gotta try it!! OMG! It's amazing! I love that it's portable so you can take it anywhere with you, too! I especially love it for a DIY shoulder massage. Just stand up with your back to a wall and put a lacrosse ball (like this one) between your shoulder and the wall. Put enough pressure on it that you're comfortable and then roll back and forth, up and down or whatever feels great to you to break up those knots. It's so fantastic! And you can use it for any other area that you need a little TLC, too... like your feet!
P.S. If the Lacrosse Ball is too hard for you, then try a softer one like a Racquet Ball (I love these pink ones) or a Spikey Massage Ball (like these). Personally, I prefer the softer balls for massaging areas like my feet and the harder ones for my back.
I can't wait to hear how you like this one!
What can I substitute if I don't have Eucalyptus Blue?
ReplyDeleteTry PanAway or Peppermint -- I hope that helps
DeleteCan I combine two blends together (panaway and valor) in a recipe? I heard that it wasn't good to combine blends for some reason? I appreciate your advice on this subject, I always trust the information you give on your blog ;)
DeleteRobert, thank you so much! You are so sweet. And you can combine essential oils together. However, combining them may alter their frequencies a bit so sometimes combining them can alter how they work.
DeleteIf you are worried at all, you can layer the essential oils instead topically on the target area. So, for instance, you could use Lavender first, wait until it dries, then apply PanAway, and then when it dries apply Valor... and so on. I typically always recommend ending with either Peppermint or Copaiba for maximum benefit.
I hope that answers your question!
O M G ! Just yesterday I told my sis-in-law that I no longer know how situate myself in order to sleep. Seems like by my age I'd have figured that out! Bahaha. I'm sure it's my pillow - and my neck has been hurting for 3 - 4 months. (You'd think I'd have learned how to buy a pillow by now too!). Anyway, can't wait to try this. Sherri, you're the best ! You always post just what I need, just when I need it. Mwah!
ReplyDeleteI hope it helps you like it's been helping me!! MWAH! You're awesome!
DeletePS: love how you gave that girl an Overthrow Martha tat. heehee
ReplyDeleteHehe! I was having fun with that one! LOL!! You have a sharp eye!
