Easy DIY Mini Lotion Sticks

Sometimes creative ideas come to me and I think, "Gosh, Sherri. You're brilliant." This is not one of those moments.

I've spent two years with my original lotion bar (which I love) and I kept thinking FOR TWO YEARS that there has to be a better way and that I was missing something to make them uber portable. And then it hit me... put it in an absolutely adorable mini container.

DUH.

That was the result of two years of contemplation. Not my best moment, but nonetheless I am in love with the results of these Mini Lotion Sticks! I hope you will be too.

DIY mini lotion bars make a great gift or to carry in your purse

Melt the shea butter, beeswax and coconut oil over a double boiler. Once they are melted, removed from the heat and stirred in the Calendula oil, vitamin E, vegetable glycerin and essential oils.

Carefully pour the DIY lotion mixture into the mini containers (like these), careful not to spill any on the sides (yeah, right! Good luck with that!). Let them harden for at least a few hours before using. Your lotion sticks will be ready to label (if desired) and use. Enjoy!

I usually get my labels from StickerYou and they can make custom size labels based on the size of your containers so it's a great option if you want to use the lotion sticks for a bridal shower, baby shower, or any kind of gift.

If you don't have calendula, you can substitute any other carrier oil for similar consistency, but you will not have the same kind of soothing effect as calendula oil has. It's magic! Especially in the fall and winter. You gotta try it!

And remember, you can easily make your own Calendula Oil! It's really simple!! Just follow the instructions in this post: DIY Calendula Oil

  1. These are awesome! I'll definitely have to try making these, I've tried lotion bars and loved them, but I love how these are in containers
